The conference will accept Regular Papers (6 pages), Short Papers (4 pages) and Posters (3 pages). While regular papers will provide high-quality contributions to the field, Short Papers are expected to provide recent research outcomes that are not yet mature enough for a regular paper or a journal contribution, but provide novel insights into a specific problem or a thought provoking discussion of innovative ideas. Posters should ideally show work in progress or applications/demos that could be best presented in an interactive discussion with the audience. All submissions have to be uploaded via the easychair system. Submission to the Regular Track and Phd Track should focus on topics such as:
Ethical Aspects of Human-Machine Systems
Human Performance Modeling
Human-Machine Cooperation and Systems
Human-Machine Interface and Communications
Interactive Design Science and Engineering
Interactive and Digital Media
Interactive Tools for the Digital Humanities
Kansei (sense/emotion) Engineering
Resilience Engineering in Human-Machine Systems
Systems Safety and Security
Team Performance and Training Systems
Usability and User Profiling
User Interface Design
Virtual and Augmented Reality Systems
Web Intelligence and Interaction
Complete manuscripts must be electronically submitted through the conference website using EasyChair. Submitted manuscripts can be Regular (6pp), Short (4pp) or Poster (3pp) papers in IEEE two-column format, including figures, tables, and references. Please use the templates at Manuscript Templates for IEEE Conference Proceedings to prepare your paper. All submissions MUST be in PDF format. All accepted papers are expected to be included in IEEE Xplore and indexed by EI.
Accepted papers of the conference will be published in Conference Proceedings in IEEE Xplore. In addition, the conference will offer to publish extended versions of selected papers in a special issues, e.g. the IEEE Transactions on Human Machine Systems. Another publication opportunity is provided by the IEEE Book Series on HMS where edited or authored books on specific topics of the HMS conference will be published. Further details will be announced during the conference.
The Technical Program Committee (TPC) is headed by Program Chairs (Editors). A team of Senior TPC members (Associate Editors) is handling the main review process by a large team of expert reviewers. They provide recommendations (with meta-reviews) to the Program Chairs for final decision. Authors of accepted papers need to register online for the conference before the early registration deadline. Papers have to be presented during the conference. If a paper is not presented, it will be removed from the IEEE Xplore Online Proceedings.
The SI will serve as a forum for multidisciplinary and systematic research investigations presented at the 2nd ICHMS. This SI seeks high-quality and significant extensions of contributions to ICHMS 2021. Selected high quality submissions of the conference will be invited to submit to the SI. THMS has not previously published regular papers as extensions of conference proceeding publications. For this reason, any manuscript submitted to the present SI, and ultimately published in THMS, will be required to present an extension of a research study presented at the conference of no less than 40% new results, inferences and conclusions for the scientific community. THMS will consider both full regular papers and technical correspondences. More details can be found ind the CfP and here.
The following Special Tracks have been accepted. Proposed Special Tracks will be announced on a continuing basis as soon as accepted.
